General Information

Division for Russian Language was founded in 2017 by merging the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language (including the University’s Russian Language Testing Center), Interdisciplinary Department and Pre-University Department.


The main activities:

  • Teaching international students Russian language (pre-bachelor and pre-master language courses);
  • Teaching international students Russian language (enrolled in Bachelor and Master programs);
  • Carry out Russian language and literature classes for international exchange students;
  • Support training process of international students in general scientific and general professional subjects in the framework of pre-bachelor and pre-master courses.
  • Training PhD students under program - Linguistics and Literary Studies.
  • Implementation of the advanced training program Translator in the Area pf Professional Communication (language of instruction – Russian) for international students.
  • Organization and conducting various courses for international students: individual courses; special courses in Russian literature, linguistic and cultural studies; Summer and Winter language schools.
  • Carry out professional courses Methods for Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language
  • Training international students engineering, humanitarian, economic and medical-and-biological domains (pre-bachelor and pre-master training).
  • Academic, medical, social, psychological and cultural adaptation and support of international students;
  • Support extracurricular activity of international students.
  • Curatorial support of international students;
  • Organization and conducting the official exam in Russian language, Russia’s history and fundamentals of Russia’s legislation for obtaining work permits, permits for temporary residence, and residence permits.
  • Testing for obtaining Russia’s citizenship.

Academic writing, active processes in the modern Russian language; business language; history of the Russian literature of 19th century; history of the Russian literature of 20th century; conceptosphere of Russian culture, lexicology of the modern Russian language; language and culture studies; morphology; word formation. Syntax; preparation to the examinations TORFL-I (ТРКИ-I) and TORFL-II (ТРКИ-II); pragmatics of speech communication; practical phonetics of the modern Russian language psycholinguistics; Russian as a foreign language (listening; speaking; vocabulary; grammar; general possession; writing; reading); stylistics; theory of metaphor; phraseology of the modern Russian language.
