Overview

The umbrella specialization Chemical Technology is aimed to train highly qualified specialists. It was developed according to the requirements and recommendations of industrial partners. The main features of the program:

  • students will be able to work in the areas of primary and deep processing of oil, gas and gas condensate,  work with refractory non-metallic and silicate materials, polymeric materials, organic and inorganic substances, synthetic biologically active substances, chemical, and pharmaceutical preparations and cosmetics, and others;
  • students will be able to participate in real R&D projects and use advanced equipment in their implementation.

 

The following program was developed in the framework of umbrella specialization Chemical Technology and includes other programs, such as:

 

The program uses resources of the university engineering and research schools, and advanced laboratories, such as:

  • Research Laboratory for Modeling of Physical and Chemical Processes in Modern Technologies
  • Research Laboratory for Organic Chemistry and Medicinal Substances
  • Research Center for Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology
  • Research Laboratory for Thermosetting polymers
  • Research Laboratory for Polymers Synthesis
  • Research Laboratory for Trace Elements

 

Along with this, the program use specialized software: SIAMS Photolab, SIAMS –CP Multiscale Modeling; S3D PoroStructure, Solid Works software, software for modeling processing oil, gas and gas condensate, computer simulation systems for processing catalytic reforming of gasoline, a computer system for monitoring and forecasting reforming process with a chromatogram processing module; crystallographic database PDF-4, and many others.

 

There are educational installations for differential thermal analysis and thermogravimetry, microhardness tester - ПМТ-3М, (ЛХМ-8МД, CROM-5), equipment for determining fractional composition of oil and oil products, АРНС-9, microscope BIOLAR PI, МИН-8, БИНОН, МБС-9, derivatograph Q-1500, automatic dilatometer ДКВ-5А, and others.

Learning output

The program was designed to equip students with necessary skills, allowing them to:

  • improve chemical-technological processes, implement modern technologies into production, assess their economic efficiency and innovation-technological risks
  • conduct expertly study of properties and structure of materials of chemical technology, using modern equipment and instruments
  • implement R&D projects on the production of various types of chemical products, taking into account the characteristics of raw materials
  • develop business plans and conduct preliminary marketing research to commercialize products of chemical technology activities
  • prepare and implement research projects, including in international groups
