General Information

Division for Natural Sciences was established in 2017 by merging three departments, such as: Department of General Physics, Department of Experimental Physics, and Department of General Chemistry. The division provides the first and the second year students with courses in general physics and chemistry under their academic programs.

The division is aimed at equip students with solid knowledge in the area of natural sciences and necessary experience in the areas of research projects and self-education activities. In addition, the courses should build a basis for the following advanced studies in the mentioned scientific areas.

The core principle of the training process is interrelationship of various branches of scientific knowledge and unity of analysis and synthesis in the knowledge. The division uses problem based approach in the training process.

It conducts fundamental and applied research projects in two following areas:

  • Chemical physics of nano-systems, including their testing methods, radiation and nuclear chemistry;
  • Physics of chaotic megasystems of interacting objects.

Along with this, it closely collaborates with other TPU divisions, engineering and research schools.
